William Saliba enthusiastically celebrated after Arsenal finally broke their Champions League curse.

The team from North London advanced to the quarter-finals of the championship by winning a penalty shootout against Porto. The Gunners emerged victorious with a 1-0 scoreline thanks to Leandro Trossard’s goal, resulting in a stalemate between the two teams.

David Raya successfully blocked penalty shots from Wendell and Galeno, leading to a 4-2 victory. Arsenal’s victory signifies their successful qualification for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, a feat they have not achieved in 14 years.

The most recent instance of them engaging in such behavior was during the 2009/10 campaign, but their efforts were ultimately thwarted by Barcelona. Subsequently, they have had seven eliminations at the round of 16 stage of the Champions League, with this season marking their first participation in the competition since 2017.
