Malacia joined United in 2022 from Feyenoord but has participated in only 22 matches for the Red Devils owing to a succession of ailments. The left-back has been out since May 2023 due to a knee injury requiring surgery. He recommenced exercising in July but continued to have difficulties; however, there may now be optimism for Malacia.

He remarked, “Certainly, we intend to facilitate his return, but it is not uncomplicated following a prolonged absence.” Following a season-long rehabilitation from an injury, he is rigorously training and currently demonstrating considerable progress. He is demonstrating considerable advancement, and we expect his involvement in team training on short notice; he has inherent ability. I expect that he will soon be able to resume playing games.

The left-back position has presented difficulties for United in prior seasons, as Luke Shaw has encountered injuries and has been sidelined for prolonged durations. Portugal international Diogo Dalot has taken a position on the left flank of defence, while recent signing Noussair Mazraoui is adept at functioning on both wings if necessary.

Last season, United experienced considerable injuries to key players and currently lack some essential stars before to the commencement of the new campaign. Malacia’s return will improve the club’s hopes and advantage the 25-year-old, who is eager to revitalise his career after a difficult time on the bench.
