Gary Shaw, a legendary player for Aston Villa, is still in the hospital after a dangerous fall, according to his friends.
Shaw, 63, was taken to hospital last week with a major head injury after the dangerous fall at his Birmingham home. His death, however, was said to be fake on social media on Sunday night (September 15).

On X (formerly Twitter), Talk Sport reporter Tom Ross said that he had talked to “someone who would know” and been told that Shaw is still fighting for his life. He said, “I’ve been told that Gary Shaw is still very sick in the hospital. Please be kind to his family; I’m sure they’ll let everyone know when there’s news.”

“His family will surely keep us updated, most likely through the club,” he said. “What we do know is that his condition is grave and serious.”

Stan Collymore, who played for Aston Villa after Shaw left the club and calls Shaw a “hero” and friend, also gave an update: “Villans, as Tom Ross said, Gary is still in the hospital and still very poorly.” This has been proven for me. Remember him tonight. As long as there is life, there is hope. I’m thinking of you as you fight, ledge.David Speedie, a striker who used to play for Chelsea, Liverpool, and Blackburn Rovers, said he was “very upset” to hear “false news” about his friend Gary. He also confirmed that Gary was still in the hospital.

Shaw grew up in the nearby town of Solihull and played 165 times for Villa’s main team after starting out with the club’s youth team. The years he played for Villa’s first team, from 1978 to 1988, he scored 59 goals.

This player scored some of the most important goals that helped Villa win the First Division title in 1980–81 and the European Cup the next year. But a bad injury in 1983 made it hard for him to play for the club again. After that, he played for Wallsall, Shrewsbury Town, and Kilmarnock, among others.
