UP NEXT: Manchester United has revealed the signing of a £70 million midfield player, who finished the previous season with more goals and assists than De Bruyne. Before today’s game against Brighton, a player representative is currently in Manchester to complete the transaction.

Manchester United fans have been eagerly expecting the arrival of a midfield player since the team signed three defenders and one attacker this summer. The Red Devils are dangerously close to making one, however not in the way you may think.

Former Newcastle United sporting director Dan Ashworth is already having an impact on Man Utd’s summer signing decisions, and it is typical for him to be planning ahead while the club seeks to improve the present.

Man Utd is expected to acquire Arsenal’s enormous potential. The best example of this type of addition is Chido Obi-Martin.

In a similar vein, Sekou Kone, who was born in 2006, has agreed to be signed by the Red Devils and Guidars FC of Mali, according to The Athletic.

Regarded as a tremendous talent, the eighteen-year-old primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, has the perfect physical attributes to be a #6. According to Fabrizio Romano, Kone was being targeted this summer by several teams, but Man Utd signed him before them.

Romano claims that Man Utd see Kone as a long-term player, much like they do Chido Obi-Martin. The Red Devils are aware that it might take some time for the young Mali youngster to adjust to living in a very different country.

When considering a professional route, the 18-year-old need only go no farther than Tottenham player Yves Bissouma. The 27-year-old travelled to France with LOSC Lille when he was 19 years old. He relocated to Brighton and subsequently to Spurs after a year.

Kone is hoping for a similar career path. Similar to what happened with Garnacho, Diallo, and Mainoo in years past, Manchester United gives priority to its youngsters and offers them a route to the first team. All the 18-year-old has to do is make sure he works really hard to develop his abilities.

With the signing of yet another outstanding player, the future seems bright for the Red Devils. Let’s hope Kone can develop as expected and join the first team in the next years.
