After Liverpool’s thrilling 4-3 loss to fierce rivals Manchester United in overtime of their FA Cup quarterfinal match on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp lost his cool in a TV interview.

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, was called a “graceless sore loser” and a “numpty” by Piers Morgan after he stormed out of a TV interview after his team’s FA Cup quarterfinal loss to Manchester United.

Amad’s goal in the 122nd minute for United gave United the lead, and Klopp’s Liverpool ended up losing 4-3 in a thrilling seven-goal thriller. The Reds manager was incensed, and in a post-match interview held in the tunnels beneath a boisterous Old Trafford, he angrily responded to a query concerning Liverpool’s lack of commitment.

It’s a little silly question. The German groaned, “If you see us often, you can ask us the other times why we have so much energy.” “I’m not sure how many games Manchester United has played recently, or how many we have. This is athletics. Although you felt it was a wise question, I am very disappointed in you.”

When asked if his players’ performances were being affected by playing too many games this season, Klopp stormed out of the interview room and said, “Come on! It’s clear that you’re not in great shape. I lack the courage to do this.”

Following the thrilling FA Cup quarterfinal match, a video went viral on social media, and Morgan offered his analysis. The broadcast personality posted, “Klopp is such a graceless sore loser numpty,” on X, the platform that was once Twitter.

Within 11 hours of its publication, Morgan’s tweet received over 9,000 likes. One fan responded, saying, “Any other manager will be lambasted for this.” This lacks style.”

Some, however, drew attention to the fact that Morgan had previously supported a bitter loser—his friend Cristiano Ronaldo. He wrote, “Show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser – Vince Lombardi,” in response to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s outburst following a setback against Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia last season.

What’s wrong with you, reporter? Klopp asks later in the video, which Morgan chose not to show. What are your desires?” Trying to answer, he says, “How come you’re so proactive?” The microphone missed the remainder of the Liverpool manager’s remarks as he snapped back once more.

During another interview, Klopp managed to congratulate United in a more refined manner. “We did not have a good start but we adapted really well and played a top game,” he stated to ITV. “We had numerous opportunities to end the game at 2-1, but we were rushed at times, and the rest is history.

“In the end, we lose the game even though we were almost there in extra time. The boys can’t ask for anything more. Just counting the games, our season has been intense so far. Today was particularly challenging. I wholeheartedly admire United for taking many risks. The longer the game, the worse the decision-making becomes. Thank you to United for advancing to the semifinals.”
