After Manchester City suffered a late collapse and ended up tying 2-2 with Brentford, Pep Guardiola has maintained that he did not respond forcefully when he admonished Stefan Ortega, the custodian for Manchester City. This comes after Guardiola’s comments were made in response to the situation.

A few seconds after the final whistle blew, Guardiola, the manager of City, was seen becoming excited while chatting to Ortega. Cameras were able to film the action that took place on the pitch. Guardiola was seen becoming delighted. In light of the fact that City was leading by a score of 2-0 going into the last ten minutes of the match, many people quickly hypothesised that Guardiola was unhappy with the player who was starting for his team.

A late goal scored by Yoane Wissa of Brentford and Christian Norgaard of Brentford altered the dynamics of the game. Both players were from Brentford. In the extra time that was played, Bryan Mbeumo even had a chance to win it for the club that was playing at home. Guardiola was quite furious, and he appeared on the field to shake hands with the players from Brentford as well as the referees who were in charge of the game. He even made his way onto the field to shake hands with the referees. Following that, he developed a strong aversion to Ortega, who was given a major amount of Norgaard’s aims.

On the other hand, according to Guardiola, he was actually praising the German player in addition to the defender Josko Gvardiol, who was also given a talking-to moment. Immediately following the conclusion of the match, the Spaniard offered the following explanation: “[Gvardiol] did amazing! I was pleased with the outcome! In a similar vein, [Ortega] is no different.

I expressed my happiness and contentment, particularly with regard to these two players and what they have accomplished, and I mentioned how well he played, the actions he took with the ball, and the pass he made to Erling Haaland.

There have been other times in which Guardiola has appeared irritated while simultaneously congratulating one of his players in front of the entire stadium at the conclusion of the game with the entire stadium watching. In March of 2016, he gave the impression that he was criticising Joshua Kimmich, a midfielder for Bayern Munich, after the completion of their match against Borussia Dortmund, which resulted in a scoreless draw. On the other hand, he later emphasised that he was merely praising the young player’s performance.

It appears that Ortega will continue to play for City when they go to play Ipswich Town on Sunday. The match is an away match. In the same way that Kimmich was embraced by his ardent management after being yelled at, Ortega was also given a hug by his manager, and it seems that she will continue to do this action. When Brentford attempted a comeback, the Premier League champions, who were currently in the process of winning three games in a row, were in the midst of their winning streak.

Coach Pep Guardiola was of the opinion that there were some positives to be taken away from City’s performance, particularly after the club scored two goals through Phil Foden. On the other hand, the outcome places his side in sixth place with 18 games remaining in the season of competition. “The event has taken place,” the one who had previously managed Bayern Munich and Barcelona came to the conclusion.

In the future, we will be the ones to make the decisions, but not right now. As far as I am concerned, I have not received any complaints from the boys. It is only from this vantage point that I will make an assessment. The fact that we have three against three and two against two does not change the fact that we did not succeed in doing it, and it has already taken place. Finding ways to increase our performance is the primary focus of our efforts. There is no connection between this and the fact that this is the reason why we ended up drawing.

On this particular day, we have a great deal of work to complete, but we have not yet completed all of our tasks. Despite the fact that Savinho, Phil, Matheus [Nunes], and Erling have a fantastic pace, we were not able to finish the race. Instances such as Savinho’s shot on the post and Erling’s reaction are instances of situations that can take place on occasion. It is not easy for players to make the proper decisions all the time and in the appropriate manner while they are moving at the speed that they are moving.

The situation is going to improve in the future. At this moment, I am extremely content with the performance that was brought forth. Since we were so close to winning, it is only natural that we feel a sense of disappointment. However, in the end, we were not successful.
