Paige Spiranac explains why she started wearing her unconventional golf outfits

That’s how I learnt to play golf on public courses without a rigorous dress code.

Spiranac encouraged individuals who may be frightened by the game’s ‘country club’ atmosphere and provided advise to those who may be turned off by things like a dress requirement.

‘I believe that many individuals are afraid to try golf since it may be stuffy and unfriendly at times.

‘Because you’re so afraid of “what am I wearing, what am I doing, am I gonna – you know – upset a member at a country club or all of these things.”

‘Whereas I can go to a public golf course and see males in cut-off jeans and tank tops, I’m wearing leggings.You may still respect the game and retain its traditions; it does not have to be all about your clothes.

Spiranac recently took part in the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic, which included 16 of the world’s greatest golf content creators.

The former collegiate golfer finished with a 2-over score after eight holes, as the competition’s rules only permitted the top four golfers to play a final ninth hole.
