With its first competition in 2017, the Laver Cup pairs six of the most prominent players on the ATP Tour in Europe against six of their peers from the rest of the world. Alexander Zverev, who is ranked second in the world and is a fan favorite at home, and Carlos Alcaraz, who is ranked third for the first time, are both members of Team Europe’s formidable lineup this year. Team Europe has won four of the last six editions of the event.

The three Americans Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, and Ben Shelton will be the driving force behind Team World’s success in this year’s Laver Cup competition. Team World prevailed in the previous two Laver Cup competitions, which took place in London and Vancouver, respectively.
