Manchester United’s squad includes several wingers, including Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Amad Diallo, and Facundo Pellistri.

However, with the exception of the Argentine youth and Diallo to some extent, none of the other players impressed last season.

Going into the new season, Erik ten Hag is banking heavily on Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho to recover their best form. If not, Manchester United could face another season of struggles on the wings.

Another option is to hire someone who has prior experience and can strike the ground running right away. According to Spanish journal SPORT [picture at the end], Barcelona winger Raphinha is the player most popular with Manchester United fans.

The 27-year-old Brazilian has informed the decision-makers that he does not want to leave the Spanish club this summer. However, Barcelona has to make a deal, and Raphinha is one of the players they may get a fair price for.

To make place for him, Manchester United are willing to move Antony and Sancho this summer. Both players were signed for large sums by the Red Devils, but their time at Old Trafford has been marred by controversy.

Manchester United want £40 million to sell Sancho. They are willing to consider offers of roughly £25 million to sever ways with Antony. This would give the club a total of £65 million if these transactions go through. This would provide them with the cash to recruit Raphinha, who Barcelona values at roughly £51 million.

Raphinha is no stranger to the Premier League, having previously played for Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa.

He will not be the first player to cross the Leeds-Manchester United line in his career, and the fact that he is not doing so directly should soften the blow.

The 27-year-old Brazilian has been incredibly consistent for Barcelona in his two seasons with the club, but he does not earn the same recognition as some of his teammates.

A move to Manchester United might help him become recognised as one of the world’s best creative wingers. Let’s see whether the transaction gets done this su.mmer
