With the announcement that Liam Everts, one of the most promising young talents in the sport of Motocross, will be joining the team for the 2025 MX2 season, estaan Husqvarna Factory Racing has made the announcement.

Everts will compete alongside Kay de Wolf, who is currently the defending MX2 World Champion. Together, they will form a duo that has the potential to dominate the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship from start to finish.

Being the son of Stefan Everts, who won 10 world championships, and the grandson of Harry Everts, who won four world championships, Liam Everts, who is twenty years old and hails from Hasselt in Belgium, carries a prestigious motocross lineage. Liam’s achievements now speak for themselves, despite the fact that his family’s history have likely played a role in shaping his early career.

It was at the Grand Prix of Sardinia in 2021 that Liam made his debut in the MX2 class. It was there that he soon began to establish himself as a formidable competitive opponent. Everts’s dogged perseverance allowed him to finish in the top ten of the MX2 World Championship the following year, in 2022.

In 2023, Liam continued to build on this momentum and strongly competed against Andrea Adamo for the world title. However, his campaign was unsuccessful due to a terrible accident that occurred in the penultimate round. 2023 was a breakthrough year for Everts, despite the fact that they experienced a setback. In order to properly establish himself on the international scene, he won Grand Prix competitions in Germany, the Netherlands, and Turkey. In the MX2 World Championship, he finished in fourth position overall by the time the season was over, demonstrating that he is prepared to emerge from the shadow cast by his family and make his own mark.

After achieving back-to-back Grand Prix victories in Trentino and Portugal during the 2024 season, Everts was able to demonstrate his tremendous raw speed once more. However, his season was suddenly cut short due to an unlucky injury. Everts is currently on his way to reaching his highest level of physical fitness, and he is prepared to embark on a new chapter with Husqvarna in the year 2025. He will be competing on the Husqvarna FC250.

“I’ve spent a lot of time with them in the past, so I feel really good about this move,” Everts said. “I’m really excited about this potential opportunity.” I was in desperate need of a change, and my enthusiasm to meet a new challenge is at an all-time high. We are both striving to achieve victory, as it is the ultimate objective. Our ultimate goal is to win the world championship. When I get back on the bike after recovering from my injury, we will do things with a step-by-step approach and observe how quickly I am able to ride. We will see how everything goes. Taking advantage of this chance also seemed like the ideal time to switch my race number, which would be accompanied by a new team, new colors, and a new number. Following the accident, a lot of things changed, and at this point, I thought that it was the appropriate moment to begin something that was entirely my own. My family has been really encouraging and supportive. I am experiencing what feels like a new and exciting phase in my professional life!

“We are extremely thrilled to have Liam join the Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing team,” said Rasmus Jorgensen, who is the Factory Team Manager for Nestaan Husqvarna (NHS). He is an excellent candidate for our program due to his exceptional talent, unwavering commitment, and great work ethic. In light of the horrible injuries he got in China, the first and only objective at this moment is to provide him with the opportunity to ride his motorcycle without any restrictions whatsoever. They are convinced that they will continue to push themselves, each other, and our team forward, ultimately creating an interesting dynamic that will provide us amazing highlights in 2025. Kay de Wolf, the reigning MX2 World Champion, is his teammate, and we are confident that they will continue to push themselves. It’s time to leave, TEAM!
