There were several options for disappointed racers to exchange their motorhomes for another one in the paddock because to the intense competition for seats caused by this significant change in the driver market, which no one had anticipated.

While Nico Hulkenberg jumped to Audi, Esteban Ocon moved to Haas, Carlos Sainz headed to Williams, and so on, the 25-year-old Shwartzman was the only one who was never able to get involved.

He never had a chance at Formula One, thus he has remained with Ferrari as a test and reserve driver up to this point, despite a strong career in Italian Formula 4, FIA Formula 3, the Toyota Racing Series, and FIA Formula 2.

As he moves from Europe to the United States to join Prema, who will be competing in IndyCar for the first time, Hamilton’s signing appears to be the last push he needed to end his aspirations at Maranello.

At Prema, who will Shwarzman join?
Under the power of a Chevrolet engine, the Russian-Israeli will team up with Callum Ilott at Prema, who was also previously associated with Ferrari and who faced him in Formula One.

Ilott previously served as a backup for the Arrow McLaren squad, filling in for the injured David Malukas at St. Petersburg and the Indianapolis 500. He arrives from Jota Sport in the World Endurance Championship, where Shwarzman had competed.

In a press statement, team owner Rene Rosin stated, “We are very happy to welcome Robert back to the PREMA family.” Together, we have had some outstanding seasons, winning numerous races and the 2019 FIA F3 championship. We also had a great time working with him.

“He is a very skilled driver, and I believe that we can conquer the challenging learning curve that lies ahead of us if we work together. He and Callum competing under the PREMA banner once more excites me.
