Since moving from Bayer Leverkusen to Aston Villa in 2021, Leon Bailey has developed into one of the team’s best players.

The fact that Steven Gerrard would replace Dean Smith once he was fired didn’t assist the 27-year-old’s cause.

Because of his injury history and instability, Bailey had little to no impact on the game, which hurt both Aston Villa and him.

added to the fact that Bailey and the entire Villa team would suffer under Gerrard’s rule.

However, that was also the time that Unai Emery, the genius, joined Aston Villa, helping to completely change the team and elevate their Jamaican star’s game to new levels.

His ten Premier League goals and nine assists from the right wing helped Villa to Champions League football the previous season.

From a performance and results standpoint, the Midlands team lost four preseason games and didn’t exactly shine.

However, Bailey revealed to Premier League’s YouTube channel that he usually would “come back late” for pre-season, but that wasn’t the case this time around and that he now feels in “much better shape” than the previous campaign.
