LeBron James will feel uncomfortable with JJ Redick’s new philosophy for him and Bronny James

The 22nd NBA season is almost here for LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, but this time it feels different. Their new coach is JJ Redick, and LeBron’s son Bronny James is now on the team. This might seem like a happy time for the James family, but it also brings some stress, especially because of Redick’s coaching style.

Redick made it clear at his first press conference that he wants LeBron to keep working on his three-point hitting. “He shot over 40% from three this year,” Redick said, referring to LeBron’s 41% career high from three-point range last year. “I want him shooting 3s.”Even though LeBron has shown he can improve his shot, this way of thinking might be new to him. LeBron has always been the best because he can do a lot of different things on the court. He can drive to the basket, set up plays, and control the game from anywhere on the court. He likes to make plays, so putting him in more of an off-ball, catch-and-shoot role might not work with that.

Redick built his career as a sharpshooter, and he seems eager to bring those skills to the team, especially when he plays with LeBron. But there’s a catch: making LeBron focus on his outside game too much could limit what he can do for the team as a whole.

LeBron has said that his better three-point shooting last season was because he was able to practise more after hurting his foot. It remains to be seen if this focus on long-range shots can last.
