It was one of the first series to really portray a female character who was roughing it in the American frontier, and Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman was one of those shows. As the show’s primary character, Jane Seymour was the driving force behind the success of the CBS series; nonetheless, a compelling love story is essential to the success of any show. Her relationship with Joe Lando, who played the role of Byron Sully, the rugged love interest of her character, was a huge hit with the audience. In spite of the fact that Joseph John Lando spent his childhood in Prairie View, Illinois, he began his professional life in Hollywood in the middle of the 1980s, after working as a cook in a restaurant in Los Angeles. His first acting part was on Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. After that, he went on to play roles on the soap operas One Life to Live and Guiding Light, as well as Beauty and the Beast. Both of these roles were successful. On the other hand, his breakthrough performance was as Sully on Dr. Quinn. Even though he shaved his long hair after leaving the program, fans still miss the way he looked when he was playing his character. This is true even after years have passed. It turned out that he didn’t have to shave for over seven years, which was a lot of pleasure for the actor who was up in the great outdoors.”I had the aim of playing this character with a particular appearance and having long hair, and I thought that if the show continues on for six or seven years, then when I leave, I will want to completely change my appearance to something new. My experience as an actor led me to believe that this was a good plan. In some respects, that turned out to be a wonderful outcome, while in other respects, it was not. Since I was first and foremost obligated to Dr. Quinn, I would constantly have to find a method to get around the fact that people wanted me to cut my hair while I was working on the program so that I could participate in other activities. Anything that was not related to that had to take a back seat. The reason that Michaela Quinn and Sully had such tremendous chemistry in the television series, as stated by Jane Seymour, was because of a different reason. In point of fact, the performers were participating for a period of time! Since then, the two actors have worked together again on the television project Perfectly Prudence, which was produced by Hallmark, as well as on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman: The Movie and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman: The Heart Within. It would appear that they continue to be friends to this day.

“We went out together when we were working on the pilot for ‘Dr. Quinn,'” the actress said in an interview with Chicago Parent. “It was a crazy rainstorm that happened and we were flooded out of the location, and then somehow or other, we definitely had feelings for one another, and we were definitely single at the time, and we definitely became an item for a while.”
