“In my opinion, she is the undisputed number one; she has left an imprint on the sport that no one else has,” Steffi Graf said in an interview with the German news agency DPA.

”It’s lovely of her to say that, but I don’t see how you can actually come out and say who is the greatest. I don’t see how you can do that. Navratilova stated, “When I first started out, I wanted to be No. 1, and then I wanted to be the greatest of all time, but the closer I got, I realized that it was a bunch of baloney.” Navratilova’s statement was made in reference to this.It is a fact that there is a distinct group of outstanding players, and she is a part of that group. I am also a part of that group. There is also Billie Jean and Margaret Court present, in addition to Chris. Nevertheless, I am unable to choose between Steffi and myself. “I feel embarrassed whenever people refer to me as the greatest player in the history of the game, and when I hear them refer to Steffi as the greatest, I respond by saying, ‘Hey, wait a minute, what am I, chopped liver?'” she continued.”If you just go on Majors, then you have Serena Williams; If you go a different way, then it would be me or Steffi Graf” – Martina Navratilova’s thoughts on the Greatest of All Time debateA picture of Martina Navratilova and Steffi Graf, taken by Getty Images
