How ABBA Voyage and other avatar or ‘hologram’ concert performances evoke fans’ real responses

Without Zack Martin, it is difficult to picture what life would be like for the Dallas Cowboys. Since he was selected in the first round (16th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft, he has been the most important member of their offensive line. He has been consistently ranked among the greatest guards in the game for more than a decade, and he has received numerous accolades to demonstrate his status. On the other hand, it is highly probable that 2024 will be his final season in the league and with the Cowboys.

The 34-year-old player has not been quite himself this season, but he has demonstrated his mettle by continuing to play despite suffering from a number of distinct injuries. It was a couple of weeks ago when those injuries were too much for him to handle, and as a result, he was unable to play in the Chiefs’ and Giants’ most recent games. Due to the fact that he is now playing under a contract that is about to expire and may be considering retirement at the end of the season, we may be getting our first taste of life without him.

A player who has been selected to the first team of All-Pro seven times and named to the Pro Bowl nine times cannot be easily replaced by the Dallas Cowboys. Players of Zack Martin’s calibre are extremely uncommon, which is especially alarming given the possibility that he will retire in the near future. The passage of time, however, finally catches up with each and every one of us, and there is nothing that any of us can do to stop it. It would appear that this is the circumstance that exists for No. 70 at the present time.

Brock Hoffman has been filling in at right guard for the Cowboys while the future Hall of Famer watches from the sidelines during their two-game winning streak. Although his absence is expected to be brief, Hoffman has been doing so successfully. Hoffman has surprisingly filled in brilliantly, enabling the Cowboys offence be prolific both on the ground and through the air. Zack Martin is not the player that Hoffman is, but he fills in admirably. It appears that he is taking pleasure in the opportunity to demonstrate his worth up to this point, regardless of whether or not he is the future of the job.

Being a starter in the centre of the offensive line for the Cowboys, Hoffman brings a little bit of nastiness to the table. Playing through the whistle and having no trouble mixing it up with the opponent on a play-to-play basis are both characteristics that he possesses. Pro Football Focus (PFF) gives him a score of 70.0 overall, 75.7 pass blocking, and 67.8 run blocking in his two starts at right guard. This is a rather respectable performance. In the event that this continues, he may be able to secure a full-time starting position for the next year.

In spite of the fact that the Dallas Cowboys are facing the gloomy prospect of living without Zack Martin for the remainder of the 2024 season, all of this information is a rather positive development for the team. Assuming that Brock Hoffman maintains the same level of performance that he has shown in the previous two games, one of the many items that they could cross off their list of things to do during the offseason would be to find a replacement for Martin at right guard.

This is not the kind of sendoff that we would have hoped to have seen from someone who has meant so much to the Dallas Cowboys over the years or one that has been as essential. Whatever the outcome may be, we would have like to have seen someone like this. In a perfect world, he would be leaving with some jewellery and maybe even a couple of Super Bowl rings, but regrettably, he is joining a long list of athletes who have experienced the same fate. As far as I can tell, however, he is without a doubt one of the top ten players in the organization’s history, and this is not something that can be contested.
