Gippsland Celebrates as Collingwood Football Club Makes Highly Anticipated Visit

Collingwood, the 2023 AFL premiers, will hold their Community Camp in Gippsland from Sunday, December 17 to Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

The Magpies will begin their visit to the region in southeast Victoria with a super clinic at Morwell Recreation Reserve on Sunday afternoon, followed by visits to schools and junior football teams and an open training session over the next few days.


Gippsland product Tew Jiath, who was just recruited by the Magpies in the 2023 AFL Draft from the Gippsland Power and Morwell Football Netball Club, will attend the camp in his hometown.

Program of Activities


Sunday, December 17th, 3:30-4:30pm: Super Clinic at Morwell Recreation Reserve.
4:30–5:15pm: Player signing session


Local children who registered for NAB AFL Auskick in 2024 will be eligible to participate in the clinic. Participants will be contacted personally with additional information. To register for Auskick, go to: play.afl/auskick

Tuesday, December 19 Morning: School visits.
Afternoon Clinics and player appearances in Traralgon, Moe, Morwell, Warragul, Drouin, and Fish Creek.
Evening: Coach training for local coaches, led by AFL Victoria and Collingwood FC coaches. Local clubs and community football coaches will be approached directly for more information.

On Wednesday, December 20th, from 9:00am to 11:00am, there will be an open training session at Morwell East.
