Former Ohio State Offensive Lineman Ben Christman Died of Natural Causes, According to His Obituary

According to his obituary on the website of Akron’s Hummel Funeral Home, former Ohio State offensive lineman Ben Christman passed away last week from natural causes.

According to Christman’s obituary, the 21-year-old passed away in his sleep on February 11 in Las Vegas due to an unknown natural cause. He passed away the day before turning twenty-two.


Christman, a four-star prospect from Richfield, Ohio’s Revere High School, committed to Ohio State in June 2020 and signed a contract with the Buckeyes that same December. He played in a game versus Indiana as a redshirt freshman and spent the following two years in Columbus. Following spring practice in 2023, Christman moved to Kentucky, then in December 2024, he transferred to UNLV.
