FINAL DEAL: Collingwood acquires utility, and Giants compensation is disclosed – Australian Football League Trade News

The acquisition of GWS utility Harry Perryman to Collingwood’s midfield through free agency on Friday was a significant step in the right direction for the club.

After spending eight seasons and 129 games with the Giants, Perryman has made a MASSIVE DEAL (change) to join the Pies.

Since being selected with the fourteenth overall pick in the 2016 National Draft, the 25-year-old player has been a reliable performer for the National Football League’s youngest club.Given that Collingwood wanted to strengthen its midfield with Nick Daicos and Jordan De Goey while also preparing for life beyond Scott Pendlebury and Steele Sidebottom, the club was able to win the heart of Perryman. This was despite the fact that Port Adelaide and Hawthorn had shown a great deal of interest in the player.

The GWS utility player has spent the majority of his time playing in the backline, but it is widely believed that he desired to play in the middle of the field, which would have allowed competitors to make a move.

The fact that youngster Finlay Macrae is only behind the eight-ball has made it abundantly clear that the team coached by Craig McRae requires ready-made midfielders to work alongside Daicos in order to aid him with the load.

As a result of the loss of Perryman, GWS will be awarded Pick 16, and the Australian Football League will take into account St. Kilda’s compensation for Josh Battle.

His departure comes at a time when the Giants are also getting ready to let go of Nick Haynes (Carlton) and Isaac Cumming (Adelaide) due to free agency transfers.

I would like to express my gratitude to the Giants over the past eight seasons.

Perryman expressed his gratitude to the GWS Giants for providing him with his first opportunity to play in the Australian Football League.

My time spent at Sydney Olympic Park will remain ingrained in my memory forever, and I would want to express my gratitude to both the players and the staff for the connections I developed over the course of the eight-year trip.

I believe that Collingwood is the ideal location for me to advance my football career, and I am looking forward to getting to know the other members of the program as well as the individual players.
