Fulham are in advanced talks to capture Aston Villa defensive mainstay Diego Carlos this summer.

Fulham will be eager to improve on their 13th-place finish last season. They will want to finish in the top half of the table, and Marco Silva is working hard to ensure he has all of the necessary pieces. The Cottagers have already made big additions to their squad, but they are still hunting for more quality in the rear.

According to Sky via Fichajes, Fulham are looking to raid Aston Villa for Diego Carlos’ services. The Cottagers want to bolster their backline, and they believe the former Sevilla player can help. He’s done a good job at the back for Villa and should settle in quickly at Craven Cottage.

Diego Carlos would be a great addition.
Carlos built a reputation for himself at Sevilla before moving to Unai Emery’s Villa in summer 2022. He suffered a disastrous debut season due to a catastrophic injury, but the Brazilian defender recovered with great performances last season, appearing in 38 games. While he hasn’t been as consistent as he was in Spain and still has two years left on his contract, Fulham are hoping to lure him away from their rival English club.

They are already in advanced negotiations to sign the 31-year-old centre-back. While the Cottagers have already recruited Jorge Cuenca to their roster, they require a more experienced campaigner to assist them deal with the departure of Tosin Adarabioyo, who departed the club when his contract expired.
