COREY TAYLOR On New SLIPKNOT With ELOY CASAGRANDE: “I Think He’s Going To Take Us To Some Places We Haven’t Been In A While”

The band Slipknot gave the impression that they were going to release new music “very soon” back in June, but it appears like the wait may be a little bit longer than expected.

Clown, the percussionist for Slipknot, recently gave an interview to Alternative Press in which he disclosed a brief timeframe for new music, which does not appear to include the year 2024 being included. “Somewhere between 2025 and mid-2026, there’s gonna be writing,” he explained to reporters. “I believe that it is going to be sooner rather than later. We might be able to get into the studio in the latter half of the year 2025. A lack of expectations is present. There is no one who is in a hurry, but we are not going to ignore it either.

After some time had passed, Clown mentioned that Slipknot is still not interested in a long-term record deal like the one they had with Roadrunner during their entire career, but that a shorter one might be conceivable. “I will not sign a contract for seven albums. Could we, however, undertake one or two one-offs? No, I am not sure. Do I have any interest in carrying it out on my own? I must say, it is a significant amount of labour. Could we pull it off? It’s true. Is it possible that the band could benefit from it? Indeed, it is. Is there going to be ten times as much effort involved? Without a doubt.”

Then there is, of course, the subject of Eloy Casagrande, the new drummer, who has been absolutely killing it out there. Corey Taylor, the band’s vocalist, has expressed his belief that Casagrande may be able to steer the band in the direction of a sound that they haven’t had in a while. This is fantastic news when one considers how very excellent old Slipknot is.

It is clear that Eloy is a natural writer. According to Taylor, “I believe that he is going to take us to some locations that we haven’t been to in quite some time.” “I’ve got a lot to say, and I’m looking forward to expounding on a lot of different things.”
