Collingwood thanks Brendon Bolton who has accepted a coaching role with the St Kilda Football Club.

Bolton, 45, arrived at Collingwood as a Director of Coaching in September 2021 alongside then newly appointed Senior Coach Craig McRae.

Through his position as Director of Coaching, Bolton mentored the AFL coaches, playing a key role in the development and execution of the team’s strategy and game plan.

The experienced coach was in charge of the backline during the program’s 2023 Premiership success before he was tasked with stepping into the General Manager of Football role this year.

Brendon Bolton said:

“I’d like to thank the coaches, players and staff who I have worked closely with during my time at Collingwood.

“Working alongside so many talented people really energised me and serving in a couple of different roles has allowed me to gain experience I otherwise wouldn’t have.

“While I am incredibly grateful for my time at Collingwood, my passion right now remains on playing a role as a coach in an AFL program which I am looking forward to getting stuck into.”

Collingwood CEO Craig Kelly said:

“We sincerely thank Brendon for his contribution to our Club over the past three years.

“Brendon has played a key role in senior positions at our Club; in our football program where he developed our players, coaches, and staff, and through our wider organisation in his leadership role.

“We wish him and his family the very best in their next chapter.”

“The past few years have been memorable with ‘Bolts’ a part of our program.

“Reaching the ultimate success is only attainable if you have quality people around you and Bolts’ input and knowledge made us all better.

“We thank him, his wife Louisa, and their children Ned and Rosie, for being a part of our family and wish them all the very best with their next journey.”
