Chelsea is rumored to be selling Cole Palmer for £100 million, and Paul Merson responds to the crazy Manchester United transfer idea.

Paul Merson said it’s possible that Chelsea “will sell” Cole Palmer if they are offered a £100 million deal, because Jamie Carragher said the former Manchester City star could join Manchester United in the future.

The Blues have spent almost £1 billion on transfers since Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, and their BlueCo partners bought Chelsea two summers ago. However, Palmer’s purchase has turned out to be the club’s smartest move. Palmer moved to Stamford Bridge for £42.5 million (€50.5 million, $56.1 million) because he was having trouble getting a spot in Pep Guardiola’s City team.

The 22-year-old has come a long way. In his first season, he scored 41 goals (26 goals and 15 assists) in 48 games, which earned Palmer the PFA Young Player of the Year award and a spot on England’s team for the European Championships.

When he joined the Blues last summer, they signed him to a big nine-year deal, which shows how committed they are to the star. The London club recently took steps to extend the deal of Nicolas Jackson, another player they signed in the summer. Jackson will now stay at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2033.

According to Merson, neither Palmer nor Jackson is likely to stay for a long time. He thinks that if either player got a good deal, the team would take it.

Merson told Sky Sports, “They must only care about what happens on the field. I’m still not sure about the strategy.” I still don’t know what the plan is.

Nicolas Jackson has a deal that lasts until 2033. Jackson will be sold if he gets 25 goals this coming season. That is the whole idea.

Cole Palmer will be worth £100 million if he keeps doing well. He’s going to be sold for £100 million. That’s how things work; they don’t want all of these guys to run out of time on their contracts.

Cole Palmer to play for Manchester United? Carragher explains why a possible move might make sense.
Jamie Carragher, who works with Merson at Sky Sports, recently said that Manchester United should try to sign Palmer so he can go back to his hometown team in the northwest. This follows Merson’s suggestions.

What Carragher said about his theory and the possibility of a change during his interview with The Overlap: “A thought just came to me…”

If Chelsea has another bad season, we’ve already talked about how bad things are for Manchester United on the right wing.

“Mr. Palmer really loves Manchester United, doesn’t he?” Should United not think about going back to this issue in a year if things don’t get better?

That’s something I think is possible. Cole Palmer is going to Manchester United.

Palmer did very well last season under Mauricio Pochettino’s direction, and he has already scored one goal and set up four others this season under Enzo Maresca’s direction.

Palmer had more trouble against Bournemouth on Saturday night because he was mostly stopped and hit four times during the game.

Maresca says that the 22-year-old might have to get used to this kind of treatment as he becomes a target.

Maresca said, “These traits are likely to be present in such players.” It was Lewis Cook’s job to mark him one-on-one for 95 minutes before we moved him to the wide area. The job is hard for Cole and everyone else on the team. You need to come up with another choice.

Chelsea told Musiala to be careful, and Guehi’s return is tough.
Even though Chelsea has spent a lot of money on transfers, their team is still not complete. When the winter transfer window opens on January 1, they may go after summer goal Victor Osimhen.

A big name linked to them is also a possible move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, who has done very well since joining the club in the summer of 2021.

Newcastle worked hard over the summer to get him to sign with them, but reports now say that he may move to another club in 2025. Liverpool and Chelsea are among the teams looking into a possible deal.

According to Football Insider, Guehi doesn’t want to go back to Stamford Bridge because he is likely to be interested in “more tempting offers.”

TEAMtalk has confirmed that Chelsea’s desire to bring back former academy player Jamal Musiala is real. However, it looks like it will be very hard to make happen because Bayern Munich is focusing on a new deal for the player.

Palmer’s numbers show that he is better.

Palmer has been very good for Chelsea since he moved there, regularly showing off his skills and proving the early promise he showed when he first came up at Manchester City.

Recently moving to London has paid off big time for Palmer, who has won a lot of awards. The player is about to add to his already impressive list of honors and numbers.
