As an actress and model, Brooke Shields has established a successful career for herself. While she is known for her roles in popular films and her appearances on the covers of fashion magazines, she is also deeply committed to embracing beauty in a manner that is unique to her. The new haircare brand that she has launched, called Commence, is aimed at “addressing people over 40 and the challenges they face being on the journey of aging,” she says in an exclusive interview with Good Housekeeping. “And we’re solving it in a legitimate way.”

Hormonal changes are a natural part of the aging process, but in this day and age of social media, cosmetic brands don’t always take them into consideration. Brooke, on the other hand, is serious about assisting individuals as they go through the process of aging while also employing scientific research to discover ways to make them feel beautiful.

“There has been so much growth that I’ve experienced in just the short amount of time I’ve been in an industry I have never really learned about,” Brooke is quoted as saying. Although I did have a career as a model, I never imagined that I would go on to become the founder or CEO of a beauty firm. Watching how people react to the products has been the aspect of this that has provided me with the most excitement and a sense of renewed energy. They are observing a progress that is favorable.”

She has been particularly into one of Commence’s newest offerings, the Shine-Enhancing Detangler, and she has been really into it. In addition to disclosing how she uses some of her favorite haircare products from the brand, Brooke also shared some beauty and self-care must-haves that she says help her accept her truest self.Brooke refers to this dry shampoo from Commence as a “hero” product since she has been able to overcome hair problems that she had been concerned about over the course of an extended period of time.

“I feared what products were doing to my scalp and stripping my hair — or if I’ve paid for a good blowout and a good style, I want to make it last,” she says in her explanation. “So my first hero is the instant dry shampoo, because it solves a lot of issues for me.”
