At the 50 over 50 celebration that Forbes held in New York on Friday, Brooke Shields wore plaids, checks, and tartan, which are all trends that are currently popular. A wool midi halter dress from Brandon Maxwell’s fall 2020 collection was the piece that the actress chose to wear. She accessorized it with gold hoops, layered bracelets, and brown leather boots.

She wore her dark hair in waves, and her makeup consisted of brown eyeshadow, a muted blush, and a mauve lip. Shields wore her hair in waves. Her mother, Teri, had previously owned a vintage cream gown that Shields wore. The gown was embellished with pearlescent beads and crystals, and it was a vintage piece. A brief video clip that Shields uploaded to social media included the following statement: “She wore it to meet the queen.” In the films “Endless Love” and “Backstreet Dreams,” Teri, who was Brooke’s manager, appeared alongside her daughter in the performance roles.

Commence was the name of the hair care brand that the former Calvin Klein spokesmodel introduced to the public in June.”When I hit this age, I had a sense of accomplishment, but also this excitement that there is more to look forward to,” Shields, who turned 59 this spring, said in an interview with Beauty Inc. It was my hope that this optimistic outlook would be something that we all had in common with regard to how we age.

In addition, Shields stated that she is enthusiastic about breaking taboos, particularly those that pertain to the process of aging.

The current phase of one’s life is the beginning. For Shields, it is a rallying cry to take action. “This is about taking a look at your life in its entirety and asking yourself, ‘How do I want to walk through this period?'”

During this season, plaids, checks, and tartans are all popular choices. Alex Badia of WWD made the observation that a number of well-known fashion houses, such as Chloé, Dior, and Burberry, have recently included these heritage prints in their collections.
