Among the actors who have been nominated for exceptional performances are Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden of “Slow Horses,” Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline of “Disclaimer,” Jason Segel and Harrison Ford of “Shrinking,” and Jake Gyllenhaal of “Presumed Innocent.”Apple was honored today with nine nominations across four programs for the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards. Leading category nominations include Best Drama for the darkly funny spy series “Slow Horses” and Best Limited Series for the acclaimed thriller “Disclaimer.” Additionally, outstanding performance nominations were given to Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden for their roles in “Slow Horses,” Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline for their roles in “Disclaimer,” Jason Segel and Harrison Ford for their roles in “Shrinking,” and Jake Gyllenhaal for their roles in “Presumed Innocent.” On Sunday, January 5, 2025, the winners will be publicly announced at the Beverly Hilton, which is located in Los Angeles.
Not only does the Emmy Award-winning drama “Slow Horses” receive a mention for Best Television Series and Drama, but it also receives a nomination for Best Performance for the main actor, Gary Oldman. This is Oldman’s second Golden Globe nomination for “Slow Horses” in this category. Additionally, Lowden receives a nomination for Best Performance by a Supporting Actor. The series has received a number of accolades, including nominations for the Emmy Award and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award for their remarkable performances as the lovable and irascible Jackson Lamb (Oldman) and River Cartwright (Lowden), who is a favorite character in Slough House.
Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline, both of whom have won Academy Awards, have been nominated for Best Performance and Limited Series for their captivating performances in the gripping drama “Disclaimer,” which was directed by Alfonso Cuarón and received widespread acclaim. Blanchett and Kline played Catherine Ravenscroft and Stephen Brigstocke, respectively, in the film. Recent recognition from the Critics’ Choice Awards has resulted in these nominations. The Critics’ Choice Awards have awarded four nominations, including one for Best Limited Series and one each for Blanchett, Kline, and Leila George for their outstanding performances.
On the other hand, Harrison Ford receives a nomination for Best Performance in a Supporting Role for his role as Paul, which is also his first Golden Globe nomination in a television category. The acclaimed hit comedy “Shrinking” has earned a nomination for Best Performance, Musical or Comedy for its star, Jason Segel, who has received his second Golden Globe nomination in this category for his performance as Jimmy in the series. A number of awards, including the Emmy Awards, the Critics’ Choice Awards, and the Writers Guild of America, have recognized the series, and these are the most recent distinctions it has received.
Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays Rusty Sabich in Apple’s “Presumed Innocent,” has been nominated for a nomination for Best Performance in a Dramatization. This nomination comes on the heels of Ruth Negga’s nomination for the same category, which was received by the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
Apple’s most recent accolade from the Golden Globe Awards comes in the form of these nominations. This comes after Lily Gladstone’s breakthrough win earlier this year for “Killers of the Flower Moon” and Paul Walter Hauser’s triumph for “Black Bird” in 2023 for the award of Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series. To date, Apple Original films, documentaries, and series have received a total of 535 wins and 2,402 award nominations, and the number continues to grow. Among these include the comedy “Ted Lasso,” which has won multiple Emmy Awards, and “CODA,” which walked away with the historic Oscar for Best Picture.
