In the past few weeks, Unai Emery has had to watch his team get through a few close games. First, they won 3-2 at Everton, and then Villa lost the Midlands match to Wolves with a late goal.

Let’s be honest: Aston Villa were terrible against Wolves for a lot of the game and probably should have lost. They were lucky it wasn’t worse.

A lot of the players looked off and didn’t have that spark. Some thought it was because Villa beat Young Boys in the Champions League the week before.

But that can’t be used as an excuse because there will be a lot of emotional games in Europe this season. Amaįl Onana called Villa’s new dead-ball specialist a “baller,” while Lucas Digne sent fire emojis and Morgan Rogers said Tielemans is “so good.” The team must be ready.

When your players are almost at the top level but not quite there yet, you know that they can do pure magic at any time.

These are the things Youri Tielemans did over the weekend. He wasn’t at his best for most of the game, but his cross set up Ezri Konsa to score at the far post, which was the best play of the game.

Tielemans wrote on Instagram after the game that he was happy to have “that winning feeling,” and his friends praised him in the comments.
