Aaron Boone’s Yankees future gets eye-opening take amid ALDS vs. Royals

One of the most common topics of discussion among baseball fans is the job security of Aaron Boone, the manager of the New York Yankees. As Boone attempts to navigate an almost thankless position as manager of the greatest club in baseball history, it appears as though the answer changes every week.The American League Division Series between the Yankees and the Kansas City Royals is close, but the Yankees hold the advantage after winning a pivotal Game 3 on Wednesday night. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman spoke with the media prior to the game and discussed Boone’s future.According to Bryan Hoch, Cashman stated, “He’s signed through a contract, and I’m certainly happy to have him as our manager.” “I think we have an option on him, so let’s try to find a way to beat Kansas City and see what else I can add.”

After his 2021 contract expired, Boone inked a three-year contract with the Yankees. There is a 2025 team option in the deal. Cashman refrained from outright stating that Boone will come back. Probably something to do with how New York’s season turns out.

That may imply that in order for Boone to remain in his position, the Yankees must win the World Series. Although the Yanks advanced to the ALCS in two of Boone’s first seven seasons as manager, New York has not won a pennant since 2009.

Arguably the league’s most criticized manager is Aaron Boone. Though some Yankees fans have praised his performance during the ALDS, he most likely would have left years ago if it were up to them.
