From Manchester to London: The Transfer Saga of Raheem Sterling and Arsenal

Raheem Sterling turned down Saudi Arabia’s astounding offer of £650,000 a week to sign a loan with Arsenal from Chelsea.

The 29-year-old England winger’s extraordinary offer would have more than doubled his present £300,000 weekly wage. However, Sterling waited to join Arsenal and prioritised winning titles for the Gunners over money. In addition, he still has long-term goals of rejoining the Three Lions in time for the 2026 World Cup.

On Friday night, Sterling’s solicitors and agents argued over the abrupt late loan shift across the capital. He now plays a crucial role in the Mikel Arteta team, which is predicted to contend for the Premier League championship once more.

As of right now, Mirror Football has learnt that he turned down the Saudi offer two days before Chelsea and Arsenal had even begun negotiations. Ten days after new Blues manager Enzo Maresca made it plain, both in public and in private, that Sterling would never play for the team again, things started to get serious at the beginning of last week.
