Eriksen certain struggling Man Utd teammate ‘will come good’ after ’10 other players’ blamed for not helping
Christian Eriksen is confident that a fellow Manchester United player who is having a difficult time can turn his fortunes around, and Wayne Rooney has provided an insightful piece of advise regarding what the great player needs to do in order to improve.
In Sunday’s match, Manchester United held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw and, arguably, created the higher quality opportunities than Arsenal did. David Raya was in excellent form as he prevented Bruno Fernandes from scoring a second goal. Additionally, the Spaniard made a fantastic save to prevent Noussair Mazraoui from scoring his first goal for United.
Rasmus Hojlund, who had been substituted in from the bench in the 76th minute, was also involved in the action all throughout the match.
For the misfiring Dane gave Declan Rice the opportunity to make a last-ditch tackle inside the area, but he failed to respond quickly enough to prevent it. In addition, Hojlund witnessed a remarkable display of near-post movement go unrewarded when a lunging shot was taken. Gabriel Magalhaes made a half block on the striker’s shot that was headed towards the goal.
Due to the final outcome, Hojlund was able to extend his streak of matches without scoring to twenty across all competitions.
However, Christian Eriksen, a seasoned teammate, stated in an interview with Sky Sports after the match that Hojlund “will come good when the time comes.”
Eriksen also indicated that Hojlund’s teammates are not doing enough to relieve the strain on the striker by contributing goals themselves. This is something that Eriksen believes is not happening.
There are just three players on Manchester United’s roster who have scored more than three goals in the league so far this season. Marcus Rashford, who was loaned to Aston Villa in January, is one of those guys. Fernandes, who has seven, and Amad Diallo, who has six, are the other two. Diallo is now unable to play due to an injury.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Eriksen mentioned, “I am pretty confident that he will come good.” “He is a man who puts in a lot of effort, and he doesn’t feel satisfied when he doesn’t score goals.
You can, however, list approximately ten other players on the team who do not score a sufficient number of goals. He is a smart young man, and he will be all right. Rooney, a former striker for Manchester United, provided commentary on Hojlund’s energetic cameo appearance when he was presenting on Match of the Day 2.
Rooney stated that there was a single opportunity in which his shot was blocked, despite the fact that he had demonstrated remarkable mobility in order to get to the near post. “That certainly demonstrated to me how desperately he needs a goal at this very moment, but all he can do is continue to work.
