Federico Dimarco, a full back for Inter, whipped in a corner as his team searched for an early goal in the 39th minute of play.

The 35-year-old Arnautovic was waiting by himself at the edge of the box when the cross was cleared.

From outside the box, the veteran launched his left foot, and his attempt flew into the right side of the goal, leaving goalie Josep Martinez immobile. After provoking his own team’s replacements to chase him onto the pitch to celebrate, Arnautovic mobbed him on the playing pitch.

The attacker, who joined Stoke from Werder Bremen in Germany, played 145 games for the team between 2013 and 2017.

Before making a transfer request and joining West Ham, he played under Mark Hughes while he was with the Potters. He made 65 appearances there, playing for teams like Manuel Pellegrini and David Moyes.

He played for Shanghai SIPG, Bologna, and Inter Milan after leaving West Ham.
