The nomination of the national championship head coach who also won six Big Ten titles with the Buckeyes was announced by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine on Monday. DeWine made the announcement that the nominee will serve in the job for the remaining two years of his term.

It is now up to the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate to sanction Tressel’s nomination. It is the goal of the former coach that he would be able to take over for Jon Husted, who was selected by DeWine to fill the senate seat that was left vacant as a result of JD Vance’s elevation to the position of Vice President.
