The death of former Liverpool player Coutinho was confirmed today.

Former Liverpool players believe the club paid a fair price for Philippe Coutinho.

Former Liverpool players thought their old team had done a respectable job of obtaining £142 million for Philippe Coutinho, who was heading to Barcelona.
The Brazilian, who had expressed his intention to transfer to the Nou Camp after the Reds rejected a £118 million bid from Barca in July, reached an agreement on a deal on Saturday.

After his countryman Neymar, Coutinho is now the second most expensive football player in history thanks to the British record fee.

Given that Coutinho will not be able to play for Barca in the Champions League, former Liverpool defender Phil Thompson questioned the rationale for making the mid-season transfer.

They are winning the league, he has the World Cup at the end of the season, and he can’t play Champions League football for them, so it’s difficult for me to understand what Philippe will gain, Thompson said on Sky Sports.

“Will he play for Barcelona on a weekly basis? I’m not entirely certain. Philippe might still have continued (at Liverpool). He might have been participating in a Champions League match.

“He has a fantastic opportunity to play every week for Liverpool and to play at the top level.” I do wonder, so I scratch my head.

But this is a great offer. The amount of money is really astounding and will be greatly appreciated.

Stan Collymore, a former striker for the Reds, stated that Liverpool lost out more on Luis Suarez’s move to Barcelona three and a half years ago because they had other attacking options in the form of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

“Naive that anyone thought Coutinho wouldn’t go in January,” he wrote on Twitter. “Put your head down. You can leave if we get the proper amount of money in Jan.” Amazing £ for a player who, a year ago, many Reds would have driven to Barcelona for £60 million. Tenth of Suarez’s lost value.

The contribution of Coutinho and Suarez to the team, along with the fact that #LFC’s attacking options are far more robust now than they were before Suarez left, make it impossible to dispute which loss is greater and by how much. Suarez was a unique individual! Salah and Mane are now Reds players!

The strength of the Reds’ other forward lineup also gives Michael Owen hope.

“Apologies to see Coutinho go, but he’s provided @LFC with great service, so it seems like a good deal for all parties,” he tweeted. Although it will be difficult to replace him, the team has plenty of talent to compete well for the remainder of the season.

Liverpool’s windfall should be used more prudently than when they invested the money acquired from Suarez, Jamie Carragher urged.

“Disappointed Coutinho is gone. I never imagined he’d become the player he is now when I played with him, but he’s been a great @LFC player these last few years,” he tweeted. But 142 million! All we have to do is make better use of the funds than we did before Suarez left!

John Aldridge, a former striker, was afraid that Liverpool would now have to shell out a lot of money for reinforcements.

Folks, it appears that Coutinho has left for €160 million. It’s difficult to find someone unless we pay a premium, and now that everyone knows we have the money, he tweeted.

Liverpool, according to Joey Barton, received a better deal.

“In my opinion, Liverpool has come out on top in this transaction,” he tweeted. That’s a big sum of money for Coutinho. Makes you wonder how much players like Salah, Kane, and Hazard must be worth.

Frank Lampard thought Liverpool had gotten a “good” deal as well.

He stated on BT Sport, “It’s going to happen at some point because it seems like the player doesn’t want to be there and wants to move on.”

“They increased the bid to £142 million in six months; I believe it was less in the summer, and Liverpool appears to have plenty of cash in that area,” the source said. If they want to be a complete team, they must strengthen around that.
