Tim Membrey, who is expected to be a new recruit for Collingwood, has successfully completed his medical examination and is anticipated to promptly sign with the Magpies for the 2025 season.

Mitch Cleary has reported that the unrestricted player from St. Kilda will be released from his contract in the coming days and will subsequently be acquired by Collingwood as a delisted free agent. As a result of Nathan Krueger being removed from the roster, Collingwood only has Brody Mihocek and Daniel McStay available to them as senior key forward options.

In light of the fact that Mihocek will be 32 years old before the 2025 season and that McStay will be recovering from an ACL knee reconstruction, it is abundantly clear that the Magpies are lacking in this particular area.

Membrey, who finished the 2024 season with 30 goals kicked for the Saints, is the seventh time in his career that he has reached that number in a single season.

It seemed as though the 188-centimeter forward was having difficulty competing at the AFL level through the middle of the 2024 season, as evidenced by the fact that he was demoted to the VFL for three matches.

On the other hand, the veteran got back to his old self in the second half of the season, scoring 14 goals in the last six matches of the entire season.

Despite the fact that the Saints had offered Membrey, who is 30 years old, a one-year contract for the year 2025, he was informed that he was free to explore the market and look for a longer-team deal with another club.
