Manchester United are once again pursuing the acquisition of a highly talented player valued at £30 million, whom manager Mourinho had expressed interest in back in 2017.

Manchester United are currently monitoring Miguel Gutierrez, a left-back from Girona in La Liga. This interest comes seven years after Jose Mourinho’s unsuccessful attempt to attract the Spanish player to the Premier League giants.

If Erik ten Hag’s second season at Old Trafford had not been significantly disrupted by injuries, the club’s first summer under Ineos control may not have necessitated the acquisition of a new left-back.

However, given that Tyrell Malacia has not played at all during the 2023/24 season, and with Luke Shaw perhaps unavailable until the next season, the rumored interest in Miguel Gutierrez becomes much more logical than it would have been otherwise.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Manchester United has been conducting extensive scouting on the Spaniard for several months. Gutierrez, who transferred from Real Madrid to Girona, a team that has unexpectedly performed well in La Liga, has emerged as one of the standout talents of the season. One significant reason for his club’s unexpected rise as strong contenders for the championship.

Girona manager Michel praises Miguel’s great performance.
