At the New York City Ballet’s 2024 Fall wardrobe Gala on Wednesday, Brooke Shields made a sentimental wardrobe choice. The “Mother of the Bride” actress attended the red carpet event alongside celebrities including Tiffany Haddish and Sarah Jessica Parker.Shields donned a sentimental cream gown that used to belong to her mother Teri Shields for the event. In a video that content creator Mickey Blank shared, Shields said to reporters upon arriving at the event, “I’m wearing my mother’s dress when she met the queen.” Pearls and jewels were used in abundance to embellish the vintage garment. The simple skirt flowed beneath Shields’ bustline to create a sophisticated silhouette that was reminiscent of the formal looks of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Pearl and crystal embellishments adorned the bodice, displaying elaborate patterns that flowed down the sleeves and were finished with a rounded neckline.

The renowned Calvin Klein model accessorized the outfit to match her accessories, including a bow that alluded to the garment and a set of striking drop earrings with a pearl and sparkling details.Shields’ modeling career has evolved into business and entrepreneurial endeavors over the past few years. In June, the actress and model introduced Commence, a new hair care line that focuses on encouraging women during a specific stage of their lives.

The 59-year-old Shields told WWD’s Beauty Inc in May of last year, “When I hit this age, I had a sense of accomplishment, but also this excitement that there is more to look forward to.” “I wanted this optimism about how we age to be something we all shared.”Shields’ goal in starting this new chapter of her life is to break taboo subjects and start talks for women. “This stage of life is just getting started. It’s an appeal for action, Shields declared. “This is about taking a broad view of your life and deciding how you want to navigate this time in your life.”
