Philadelphia Eagles missing three top offensive pieces at Wednesday’s walkthrough

There is a possibility that the Philadelphia Eagles will be significantly short-handed for their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Three of the Birds’ most important offensive players did not take part in the walkthrough that took place on Wednesday.

Due to the fact that he is still recovering from a hamstring injury, wide receiver A.J. Brown did not participate in the concussion protocol. However, wide receiver DeVonta Smith and right tackle Lane Johnson are currently participating in the procedure.Smith sustained a concussion as a result of a heavy hit that was delivered by Khristian Boyd, a defensive tackle for the New Orleans Saints. Boyd’s blow occurred as the receiver’s forward momentum appeared to be halted (Smith).

An Eagles wide receiver who was suffering from a concussion was allegedly spit on by a player from the New Orleans Saints.

An additional concussion was sustained by Johnson during the victory over the Saints on Sunday; however, the precise moment at which it occurred is unknown. The backup, Fred Johnson, took his position in the lineup.

During this time, Brown has already been absent from two games. It was on the Friday before the Eagles’ Week 2 Monday Night Football game against the Atlanta Falcons that the All-Pro player was first mentioned on the injury report. Brown disclosed to Lisa Salters of ESPN that he anticipated being absent for a couple of weeks.

While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni did not provide a great deal of insight regarding the team’s current situation.

It goes without saying that I won’t remark on the athletes who are currently participating in the concussion protocol. Sirianni made the observation that they are exerting a lot of effort to get back.

There is a possibility that all three will not play against the Buccaneers in Week 4, which would not be a surprise. It makes perfect sense to give all three of the Birds the most amount of rest possible in order for them to thoroughly heal and be as close to 100 percent as possible when they return to action. The Birds get a bye in Week 5.
