Craig McRae has disclosed that he had a chance encounter with Dustin Martin on Tuesday, close to the headquarters of Collingwood. The Richmond champion asked him, in a lighthearted manner, why he hadn’t received a call about playing for the Pies in the upcoming season. Earlier this month, Martin made the announcement that he will be retiring from the Australian Football League (AFL), and he also played his last game for the Tigers.

Nevertheless, there have been indications that his management has been in communication with the Suns over the possibility of a move to the Gold Coast in 2025, with the intention of reuniting with coach Damien Hardwick. Despite the fact that Trent Cotchin, a former captain of the Tigers, has stated that he believes there is nearly no possibility that Martin will reverse his decision to retire and play in the upcoming season, the rumor mill continues to run wild.McRae, the coach of Collingwood, disclosed on Wednesday that he had a surprise encounter with Martin earlier this week, during which the subject of him playing on was briefly mentioned after the meeting. In an interview with SEN radio, McRae revealed that Dusty, who was 33 years old at the time, was driving by in his car. “I was walking to work after the Brownlow and was crossing at the lights – right near the club,” McRae said.

As he lowers the window, he asks, “Where is my phone call?” and then winds it down. “Yes, I’ll call you mate, and I’d like you to come play for us,” I said. However, Martin is good friends with Collingwood star Jordan De Goey, and a move to the Pies would make a lot of sense. McRae’s comments were made in a tongue-in-cheek manner.
